Host portraits

Our hosts are French people who are themselves interested in meeting international visitors to Paris, and welcome the chance to develop international friendships. They receive no fees. We have selected each host according to careful screening that includes a quality apartment, and a reasonable level of English. Some of them also speak Spanish, Italian, German, or Chinese. All hosts have signed our Quality Charter. 

All family types are represented : couples, singles, with or without children.

This service is regulated by a principle of co-participation : the hosts offer the meal's hospitality, and their knowledge and tips about Parisian life, the guests order and offer the menu.

Would like to have a french dinner with 2 young french people around a well-dressed table and a good meal ? We will be glad to welcome you and to give you a hint of our life. We like the sea, travel, literature, a tango tune, cinema, classic or unusual Paris, history, science, dancing, jungling, tea, foreign languages, gastronomy, arts, photo, tapas, a sunset... We simply enjoy life ! Welcome home !

We are a french couple in our fifties and we love Paris and travel. We are passionate about the world and its evolution, and we also like music. We would be happy to welcome you, give you a taste of french culture and have a nice time together. Our apartment reflects our taste for travel.

I’d like thus to contribute to the development of the knowledge of French culture, both in the fields of gastronomy and human relations. My travels abroad, especially in Southeast Asia and Europe, taught me that you really discover a country when you get in touch with its inhabitants. I care a lot about human relations, and I hope, when I welcome you at home, to give you a hint of the share of our cultures, or at least, I’ll take care about it !

We are a young couple living in the heart of Paris, in the very lively Montorgueil neighbourhood. We are looking forward to sharing with you some knowledge about Paris and a few tips about what to do and see. We will welcome you warmly, with a smile, around a meal, in our small apartment.

Both open to different cultures and languages, we like to meet new people and welcome them home as warmly as possible around a meal. We live in a very popular neighbourhood of Paris, and we will present ourselves as we are. This is an opportunity both for tourists and Parisians to develop mutual understanding. We could exchange our views on problems we all know, but that we tackle differently on this earth. We will also share topics about our country and our culture.

We will offer to you a cordial reception in our home of Franco-Chinese mixed culture.
We are available for a meeting around a meal.
Our centers of interest, just as our professions, are directed towards the culture (museums, tourism).

 
I live in Levallois-Perret, 5 mn from Paris in metro. Fond of world cultures, I have been living in different foreign countries. I often travel, and I am a free lance cross-cultural business consultant. Thus I am happy to invite you for a meal at home. This is a way for us, French people, to create links and share our savoir-vivre. My conversations are eclectic, since I am interested in various topics.

I love Paris and foreign countries. I would be glad to meet you around a good meal. I will welcome you in my home with garden, and if the weather and the season allow, we would take a lunch on the terrace. I am fond of cinema, contemporary litterature, current events, gastronomy, and many other things. If you have young children, they will enjoy to play with my 2 little kids.

This cross-cultural meeting is an opportunity to open oneself to others and know new people. I would like to demonstrate that french people are not so haughty and unbearable, but they can be nice, friendly, pleasant and generous. I have the chance to know Paris very well, so I can give you my tips and make your stay comfortable. I love french cuisine. I would like you to love France so much that you come back ! I find it such a good idea to share and get to know our cultures ! I will be happy to welcome you with my brother, who also wants to enjoy the experience. I am lucky to live in the very center of Paris, face to Beaubourg modern art museum and next to le Marais.  We love our city and will give you our good addresses and ideas for visits in the capital or in the countryside. Go, tonight, I make a pause on the parisian life... just to share it better with you ! Here is a detailed review of the evening I offer you to spend in the Batignolles "bourgeois-bohemian" neighbourhood of the capital : the roofs of Paris as a backdrop, a small but coloured apartment, talks about how we see Paris*, France, your home town and country too I hope, good music for the ambiance, the Eiffel Tower glittering through the window, and all that around a good meal served with the smile by your hostess of just one night (=me!).
*I will tell you about my favourite addresses, sometimes original, about the Paris I love and I cross everyday on my bicycle !

Welcome in heaven !
At a few steps from the Champs-Elysées and the Eiffel tower, imagine you are comfortably sitting in a sofa at the 7th and last floor of a building listed as "historical monument" above a shopping gallery built by Gustave Eiffel more than a century ago. From there you are enjoying an unspoilable sunset view over "La Défense". The yellow-orange light enlights the room and contribute with its shine to make from our meeting an exceptionnal moment. If you really feel like it, we could have a coffee and a digestive liqueur in the kitchen face to the sparkling Eiffel tower while continuing our talking. For the love of nice and good things.
